Chapter 12 Discussion Forum

Q The book claims that California's decision not to allow general non compete clauses has likely led to major advances in the tech industry and probably helps explain the rise of silicon valley. Do you agree? If you do, do you think it would make sense for other states to adopt similar policies?

I agree with the claim statement of the book, which states that California’s decision should not provide permission to the different general as well as non-compete clauses that to some extent has resulted to some kind of major advances especially within the tech industry and most probably at the same time it seems to explain the silicon valley. Also, I do consider that this should not be of any surprise to anyone. Moving forward with the discussion, I would suggests that yes, it would really make sense, if the different other states do adopt a very similar kind of policy because evidence proposes that the damage from non-contend conditions is presumably more prominent than the advantage ("Non-Compete Clauses In California", 2018).
